EMDR Trauma Therapy
Las Vegas, NV
Sometimes you know something is in the past, but your mind and body don't seem to agree. A memory keeps coming back. Certain situations trigger a reaction that feels bigger than the moment. You avoid things without fully understanding why, or find yourself responding in ways you wish you could change. EMDR can help you process what happened so it no longer has the same hold on you.

This might be a good fit if:
- A specific memory or experience still feels "active," showing up as flashbacks, nightmares, or intrusive thoughts
- You're carrying something from childhood, a relationship, an accident, a loss, or a single hard event. EMDR isn't limited to any one type of trauma
- You go out of your way to avoid people, places, or situations that remind you of what happened
- You feel unusually on edge, easily startled, or emotionally numb
- Talk therapy has helped you understand your trauma intellectually, but hasn't changed how it feels in your body
What EMDR actually is
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It's a structured, research-supported approach designed to help the brain process distressing memories that may still feel emotionally present.
Using bilateral stimulation while briefly focusing on aspects of a memory, EMDR can help reduce the intensity and emotional charge connected to disturbing experiences. You don't have to narrate every detail out loud for the process to work.
EMDR is not hypnosis. You are awake, aware, and in control throughout the session.

What a session with Tina looks like
Sessions start by getting a clear picture of what you've been carrying. Before any processing begins, we'll spend time building grounding and coping tools to help you feel prepared. EMDR isn't something to rush into on day one.
From there, the work moves at a pace that respects your window of tolerance. We'll identify what you want to work on, process it together, and make space at the end of each session to help you feel grounded before you leave.
The length of the process depends on what you're working through. A single event may look very different from a longer or more complex trauma history, and we'll adjust the pace based on your individual needs.
Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
No. EMDR doesn't require a full narrative retelling the way some talk therapy does. You'll identify the memory and its emotional charge without needing to relive it out loud in detail.
It depends on what you're working through. A single, well-defined incident often processes faster than a longer trauma history. Tina will give you an honest sense of pacing after your first couple of sessions together.
Tina is currently only offering in-person EMDR sessions.
That's common, and it doesn't mean something is wrong with you. Sometimes it simply means the approach wasn't the right fit for you or what you were trying to work through. EMDR works differently from traditional talk therapy, which is one reason it can be helpful for people who have felt stuck before.
